Devin Trudell has been drawing since he was a little ki- - - ah, who am I kidding? Since Devin Trudell is indeed the person writing this, wouldn't first-person be more in order? . . . . I have been drawing since I was a little kid. My influences in comics would include my older brother Jack Trudell, Dennis the Menace (Hank Ketcham), MAD Magazine (Sergio Aragones and Jack Davis in particular), Tintin (Herge), Asterix (Goscinny/Udurzo), and Pogo (Walt Kelly, in my view America's greatest cartoonist, but America embraced the OTHER Walt!). I think comics can be literature, and never really liked superheroes except for Wonder Wart-Hog (Gilbert Shelton). I grew up in Madison, WI and went to the University of Texas in Austin where I had a comic strip called 'Bleedproof Paper' for two and a half years. I've also lived in the Twin Cities and Seattle and currently reside in Milwaukee. I guess I get around. I met Angie in 1997 and we've been married since 2003. |
